WCHA to follow new CDC COVID-19 protocol

Westmoreland County Housing Authority (WCHA) Executive Director Michael L. Washowich said the Authority will abide by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ruling in that people who are fully vaccinated  against coronavirus no longer need to wear masks while indoors or outdoors.

“I am pleased to announce that masks are no longer required for those who are vaccinated!” said Washowich. “I want to thank all of you for your patience and I can assure you that WCHA has done everything possible to protect the Health and Safety of all our residents.”

The CDC does advise that fully vaccinated individuals wear masks while in crowded indoor settings such as while on public transportation and in hospitals, prisons, and homeless shelters.

Meanwhile, the CDC suggests immunocompromised individuals should consult a physician before giving up masks.

“I would encourage all who still remain unvaccinated to please reconsider!  Those who remain unvaccinated please as a courtesy to all please wear your masks in all common areas, including Community Rooms!”
