WCHA CEO / Executive Director appointed to PHFA board

Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) Director Robin L. Weissmann introduced and welcomed Michael L Washowich as the agency’s newest board member.

The announcement was made Thursday, March 12, 2026, at PHFA’s monthly board meeting in Harrisburg.

“I’m humbled and honored to be appointed to the PHFA board,” said Mr. Washowich, who also serves as CEO / Executive Director of the Westmoreland County Housing Authority (WCHA).

He added, “I’ve always believed that a successful organization or agency is built on a foundation of strong leadership and that is certainly the case here at PHFA with this board and under the leadership of Director Weissmann.”

“I want to thank the 300 plus employees of PHFA for their work in making a difference in peoples’ lives here in the Commonwealth of Pa.”

Mr. Washowich went on to thank WCHA’s Board of Commissioners for their unwavering support and recognized WCHA’s employees for their passion and commitment that they bring to work each day in helping people in Westmoreland County in housing services.
