Do YOU want to OWN a HOME?

Westmoreland County Housing Authority (WCHA) promotes and supports first-time homeownership for low-income working families. WCHA’s Homeownership Program moves families from rental housing into an affordable home of their own.

WCHA’s Homeownership program pays a percentage of the mortgage and the tenant/resident pays a percentage of their mortgage. The family must:

♦  Be a Section 8 tenant or a Public Housing resident

♦  Be a participant of the Family Self-Sufficiency  (FSS) Program

♦  Meet employment requirement of 30 hours  a week for at least one year.

If you are interested in this program and meet the first two requirements, but do not meet the employment requirement, you should discuss your homeownership goal with your FSS Case Manager.

This program will only be offered to Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) participants. Instead of WCHA paying a percentage of your rent, they could pay a percentage of your mortgage.

If you are not part of the FSS program, you can contact the FSS Coordinator to enroll in the program. Contact the FSS Coordinator at 724-832-7248, ext. 3048, for more information.
