WCHA presented with FHLB grant

On Monday, March 2, 2026, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh celebrated financial commitments totaling more than $53 million in grants as part of its 2025 AHP (Affordable Housing Program) spanning three states.

Westmoreland County Housing Authority (WCHA) was awarded $1.25 million for its Church View Senior Residences Development.

WCHA CEO / Executive Director Michael L. Washowich stated, “On behalf of WCHA, I want to thank the FHLB of Pittsburgh for continuing to provide vital funding that supports the affordable housing industry. These funds will be used to construct 20 new senior units in Mt. Pleasant Township. “

Church View Senior Residences is currently under construction and is anticipated to open this summer.

U.S. Senator Dave McCormick, who was in attendance, emphasized the importance of this grant funds and their impact not only on housing but the economy.
